After two continuous hit movies – young energetic hero came into tollywood limelight with superb performances – he is non other than NANI. With Ashta Chamma and Ala Modalaindi films, nani became a new sensation of tollywood. His latest movie Pilla Zamindar is released today. Let’s have a detailed review on it.
Story:
The story is as old as films. Rich zamindar Nagineedu’s son marries a girl against his wishes. As a result, he is deprived of the property. However Nagineedu realizes his mistake after his son and daughter-in-law are killed in an accident. He does not want his grandson too to go in his son’s way.So, Nagineedu frames a will, which specifically mentions that Nani will inherit the property only after he fulfills certain conditions. There is a catch here. Nani being filthy rich is used to a lavish lifestyle without caring a damn and he does not even respect elders or the lecturers and principal of the college. Nani now has to not only complete his degree course but he must do it in three years. He should also stay in the hostel and manage with a very little money. The college is situated in a small village. Therefore, Nani is forced to change his lifestyle. Will he succeed in fulfilling the conditions laid down by his grandfather? whether the time spent in the college brings about a change in Nani. Answers to these questions form the interesting part of the story.
Performances:
Nani comes up with a winning performance. He showed the right attitude and expressions which shows how good an actor he is. This is best performance till date. He carried entire film on his shoulders. Hari Priya is bland. She neither has the glamour nor the talent. They should have selected a better girl for this role although it doesn’t have a big role to play in the film. Bindu Madhavi is reduced to a mere extra.
Rao Ramesh is fine. Shiva Prasad is over the top. Srinivas Avasarala is good. MS Narayana is Okay. Vennela Kishore did a cameo. Rest of the star cast did well within their limitations.

Final Analysis:
The film comes across like a journey to the countryside from the word go. The focus is more on the human values and the down to earth nature of those in the smaller places. The feel is quite different owing to the screenplay technique and one can get a flavour of Vamsi movies in some sequences.
Credit must be given to the padding artistes for making the film very energetic with their comedy. There are some good points on the essence of education, values of humanity. The film could have been much stronger if the same momentum and flavour was added to the second part instead of filling it too much melodrama.
Overall, this is a film which has quite a number of reasons to be watched. Just have patience in the second half and you will come out with smiles.
Final Verdict: Pilla Zamindar is a routine film with a routine story about a rich zamindar and his wayward grandson. Overall the movie can be watch one for the entertainment.
